Flora is a beautiful Goddess, Originally a Sabine Goddess, the Roman counterpart for the Grecian Goddess Chloris, and sometimes known as Flusia, her responsibilities included grain, vegetables, trees, growth and good harvest. Floralia began around the 28th of April and lasted until May 2 with some naming May 3rd as the end of the festival and calling it Florae. This may be because the days usually were measured from sundown to sundown. Floralia was a reflection of ceremonies and festivals for
the great Mother in Hellenistic periods of earlier Greco-Roman practice. Flora has also been called the Queen of Spring. She was married to Zephyrus, the westwind, and her temple is in Aventine. She is associated with Beltaine and the manual includes the most beautiful information and a lovely attunement process!
